This building contains a kitchen, restrooms, community space, coat room and storage room. The project is a renovation of the existing 2,966 SF building and a 216 SF entry vestibule and coat room addition. The renovation consists of a reorganized ADAAG compliant layout, new standing seam metal roof, windows, plumbing fixtures, kitchen equipment, HVAC equipment and interior finishes, including the addition of insulated stud walls to line the existing non-insulated shell. Site improvements include an accessible sidewalk and patio.
With new energy efficient HVAC equipment, windows, a reflective metal roof, and a greatly improved building envelope, the energy performance and occupant comfort is increased significantly. Many other sustainable attributes are apparent in the materials and resources selected. The carpet, metal roof and fiber cement siding have recycled content. The gypsum board, porcelain stone tile and concrete are regional materials. Carpet, paint, and adhesives were selected for their low emission of VOCs (volatile organic compound). The project has been awarded LEED Gold certification by the USGBC.
