This 100,000 SF facility originally completed around 1990 was due for major upgrades, not only to improve the overall environment but to address changing needs in functionality. Unprecedented growth, a driving culture shift, and the need for additional staffing informed our design solution, which aimed to create spaces that felt innovative and energetic. This was accomplished by removing walls to create larger and more open work areas, re-organizing workstation layouts, defining circulation patterns through ceiling and flooring treatments, and updating all the finishes, furniture and light fixtures to provide a more colorful and animated work environment.
The West Wing, which was the first phase of this comprehensive renovation was completed in mid-2014 and consisted mainly of open office work areas with several separated departments, support functions and expanded Restrooms. Current energy efficiency criteria was addressed through the implementation of more advanced mechanical and electrical controls as well as upgraded plumbing fixtures and lighting selections. Construction was done in multiple phases to facilitate the need for continued occupancy in the adjacent spaces.
