Working with Ohio’s State Architects Office and the Adjutant General’s Department, Domokur Architects has completed renovations on several National Guard Armory sites in Akron, Medina, and Chagrin Falls. The primary focus of each project was restoring the exterior facades, including deteriorating mortar, concrete lintels, and spalling brick. One of the sites is receiving a complete door and window replacement to ensure that the facility meets the Owner’s energy standards. Each of these projects, through addressing deferred maintenance issues, is providing exterior envelope integrity, increased thermal efficiency, and decreased demand on maintenance staff for site upkeep.
Work on six sites was completed between 2012 and 2014. We are currently working on the complete door and window replacement of a site in Medina, with construction expected to begin soon.
