As part of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District’s $160M Master Plan for expanding services at six sites, we are providing architectural design services for major improvements to Tappan Lake Park. Located on man-made reservoirs, this site will be receiving upgrades to existing park facilities, as well as expanding the number and quality of lodging, campsites and recreational facilities. Domokur Architects is serving as the architectural design consultant. MWCD’s vision is that Tappan Park will be an “edge sports” destination, with a swimming pool, zip lines, climbing wall and mountain bike courses, and expanded waterfront facilities.
Design includes providing for enhanced recreational activities and access to outdoor facilities. Working to a 30% design deliverable, our assessment includes associated cost projections and a coordinated sequence and phasing of needed and desired changes. These will be used to develop construction documents for the construction needs of the facility, contemplating phased construction as capital funding allows.
The project represents a significant investment into publicly available recreation for the state, and will enable thousands more families to enjoy the expansive and beautiful Ohio Wildlife within the MWCD’s area of coverage.
